Email Guard

Email remains one of the most common attack vectors for malware distribution. The Email Guard module in True Protection by Jag scans all incoming and outgoing email for malicious attachments and links.

Supported Email Clients

  • Microsoft Outlook (desktop and web)
  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • Windows Mail
  • Any POP3/IMAP email client

What Email Guard Scans

  • Attachments: All email attachments are scanned for malware before they reach your inbox. This includes documents, executables, compressed archives, and images with embedded code.
  • Embedded Links: URLs within email bodies are checked against our threat intelligence database.
  • Phishing Detection: Analyzes email content for social engineering patterns commonly used in phishing campaigns.
  • Outbound Scanning: Prevents your account from unknowingly sending malware to others if your system is compromised.

Configuring Email Guard

  • Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Email Guard.
  • Step 2: Ensure the toggle is set to Enabled.
  • Step 3: Select your email protocols (POP3, IMAP, SMTP) and the ports your email client uses.
  • Step 4: Configure the action for detected threats: quarantine, delete, or move to a junk folder.

Email Guard works transparently in the background and does not noticeably slow down email delivery. Detected threats are logged in the Activity Feed on the dashboard.
