Scheduling and Automating Scans
Automated scanning ensures your system is regularly checked for threats even when you forget to run manual scans. True Protection by Jag provides flexible scheduling options for all scan types.
Setting Up a Scheduled Scan
- Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Scheduled Scans.
- Step 2: Click Add Schedule.
- Step 3: Select the scan type (Quick, Full System, or Custom).
- Step 4: Choose the frequency: Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.
- Step 5: Set the preferred start time.
- Step 6: Configure additional options such as what to do if the computer is off at the scheduled time.
- Step 7: Save the schedule.
Smart Scheduling Options
- Run When Idle: The scan starts only when the computer has been idle for a specified period, preventing interference with your work.
- Wake from Sleep: The computer can be woken from sleep mode to perform the scheduled scan, then returned to sleep afterward.
- Catch Up Missed Scans: If a scheduled scan was missed because the computer was off, it will run at the next available opportunity.
- Low Priority Mode: Scans run with reduced resource usage so background scans have minimal impact on system performance.
Recommended Schedule
For most users, we recommend the following schedule:
- Quick Scan: Daily at a consistent time
- Full System Scan: Weekly during off-peak hours
- Vulnerability Scan: Monthly to check for outdated software and misconfigurations
