Secure Browsing with True Protection Web Shield
The Web Shield module in True Protection by Jag provides real-time protection while you browse the internet. It blocks malicious websites, prevents phishing attempts, and warns you before you visit known dangerous pages.
How Web Shield Works
- URL Filtering: Every URL you visit is checked against an extensive database of known malicious sites. Dangerous pages are blocked before they load.
- Certificate Validation: Web Shield verifies SSL/TLS certificates and warns you about expired, self-signed, or otherwise suspicious certificates.
- Download Scanning: Files downloaded through your browser are automatically scanned before they reach your disk.
- Search Result Annotations: When enabled, Web Shield adds safety ratings next to search engine results so you can identify risky sites before clicking.
Configuring Web Shield
- Step 1: Open True Protection and navigate to Protection > Web Shield.
- Step 2: Ensure the Web Shield toggle is set to On.
- Step 3: Choose your protection level: Standard (blocks known threats), Strict (also blocks suspicious and uncategorized sites), or Custom.
- Step 4: Optionally configure the allowlist and blocklist under Exceptions.
Browser Compatibility
Web Shield works with all major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Brave, and Opera. The True Protection browser extension is available for Chrome-based browsers and Firefox for enhanced integration and detailed site reports.
