Threat Signature Update Schedule
True Protection by Jag receives regular threat signature updates to ensure your device is protected against the latest threats. Understanding the update schedule helps you verify that your protection is current and plan around any bandwidth considerations.
Update Types and Frequency
- Signature Updates: Released 4 to 6 times daily. These contain new virus definitions, malware signatures, and detection rules. Each update is typically 1 to 5 MB.
- Engine Updates: Released weekly. These update the scanning engine itself with improved detection algorithms and performance optimizations. Typically 10 to 30 MB.
- Emergency Updates: Released as needed when a critical zero-day threat is discovered. These are pushed immediately to all connected devices.
- JagAI Model Updates: Released monthly. These update the behavioral analysis models used for detecting unknown threats. Typically 20 to 50 MB.
Checking Update Status
- Step 1: Open True Protection and navigate to Settings > Updates.
- Step 2: View the current signature version, engine version, and last update timestamp.
- Step 3: Click Check for Updates to manually trigger an update check.
Update Delivery
Updates are delivered through a global CDN with servers in multiple regions for fast and reliable downloads. Delta updates are used when possible, downloading only the changes since your last update rather than the full signature database. This minimizes bandwidth usage and speeds up the update process.
