USB and Removable Media Protection

USB drives and external storage devices are common vectors for spreading malware between computers. True Protection by Jag includes specialized protection to scan and secure removable media the moment it connects to your system.

Automatic Scan on Connect

When you plug in a USB drive, external hard drive, or SD card, True Protection automatically:

  • Blocks autorun execution to prevent malware from launching automatically
  • Performs a quick scan of the root directory and commonly targeted locations
  • Checks for hidden executable files disguised as documents or folders
  • Alerts you to any threats found before you access the device contents

USB Device Control

For advanced security, you can configure device control policies:

  • Allow All: Devices are scanned but always accessible.
  • Scan First: Devices are blocked until the initial scan completes (recommended).
  • Trusted Devices Only: Only pre-approved USB devices can connect. All others are blocked.
  • Block All: No removable storage devices are permitted. Useful in high-security environments.

Configuring Device Control

Navigate to Settings > Device Control to manage your USB protection policy. You can add trusted devices by their hardware ID, which is displayed when you connect a new device and select Trust This Device.

In enterprise environments, administrators can push device control policies to all managed endpoints through the True Protection Management Console.
