Migration Guide for Major Version Upgrades

Upgrading to a new major version of True Protection by Jag may introduce changes to settings, features, and system requirements. This guide helps you plan and execute a smooth migration.

Before You Upgrade

Check System Requirements: New major versions may have updated minimum system requirements. Verify that your hardware and operating system meet the requirements listed in the release notes.
Export Your Settings: Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Security Profiles and export your current configuration as a backup.
Review Breaking Changes: Check the release notes for any deprecated features, removed settings, or changed behavior that may affect your workflow.
Test on a Pilot Device: For enterprise deployments, upgrade a small group of test devices before rolling out to the entire organization.

Upgrade Process

Step 1: Download the latest version from tpjsecurity.com/downloads or through the Management Console.
Step 2: Run the installer. The upgrade wizard will detect the existing installation and offer to preserve your settings.
Step 3: Select Upgrade and choose whether to keep current settings or start fresh with defaults.
Step 4: Wait for the installation to complete. A restart may be required.
Step 5: After the upgrade, verify that all protection modules are active and your settings were preserved.

Confirm real-time protection is active
Run a quick scan to verify the scanning engine
Check firewall rules are intact
Verify scheduled scan settings
Test web shield and browser extension functionality
Confirm Management Console connectivity (enterprise)
