Troubleshooting Network Issues
If you experience internet connectivity problems after installing True Protection by Jag, the firewall or Web Shield may be blocking legitimate traffic. Follow these steps to diagnose and fix network issues.
Quick Diagnosis
- Step 1: Temporarily disable the True Protection firewall from Settings > Firewall > Disable for 15 minutes. If connectivity is restored, the firewall is blocking the traffic.
- Step 2: Try disabling the Web Shield from Settings > Web Shield > Disable for 15 minutes. If this restores access to specific websites, the Web Shield may be flagging them incorrectly.
Firewall Causing Connectivity Issues
- Check the firewall log at Tools > Firewall Log to see which connections are being blocked.
- Create allow rules for the affected applications in Settings > Firewall > Rules.
- Switch the firewall to Automatic Mode if you are using Interactive or Policy-Based Mode.
- Reset the firewall to defaults: Settings > Firewall > Reset to Defaults.
Web Shield Blocking Legitimate Sites
- Add the blocked website to the Web Shield allowlist at Settings > Web Shield > Allowed Sites.
- Report the false block to our team so we can update our database.
VPN Compatibility
If you use a VPN, ensure that the VPN application is added as a trusted program in both the firewall and HIPS modules. Some VPN protocols require specific port ranges to be open. Consult your VPN provider documentation for the required ports.
