Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a critical layer of security to your True Protection account. Even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the second authentication factor.
Setting Up 2FA
- Step 1: Log in at tpjsecurity.com/account.
- Step 2: Navigate to Account Settings > Security.
- Step 3: Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Step 4: Open your authenticator app (such as any TOTP-compatible authenticator) and scan the QR code displayed on screen.
- Step 5: Enter the 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app.
- Step 6: Save the recovery codes displayed. Store these in a secure location. Each recovery code can only be used once to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator.
Supported 2FA Methods
- Authenticator App (recommended): Time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) generated by an authenticator app.
- Email Verification: A code is sent to your registered email address at each login.
Using Recovery Codes
If you lose access to your authenticator device, use one of your recovery codes to log in. After logging in with a recovery code, immediately set up 2FA with your new device.
If you have lost both your authenticator and recovery codes, contact [email protected] with proof of identity to recover your account.
